NGK Ceramics Europe is a HONEYCERAM ® substrate production plant. It is part of the international group NGK Insulators, created in 1919 in Japan.

Settled in Baudour since 1985
The NGK Ceramics Europe plant is located in the heart of Hainaut and of Europe, in Baudour close to the city of Mons. It was built in response to the increased demand for ceramic catalyst support (substrate). It has now been a strategic supplier for the worldwide automotive industry for several decades.

Our Japanese heritage

Launch of the first ceramic insulators.
1919
NGK INSULATORS, LTD. is established in Nagoya, Japan.
1965
NGK opens its first overseas subsidiary in the United States.
1976
Creation of the ceramic catalyst support (substrate) HONEYCERAM ®.
1985
NGK Ceramics Europe (Belgium) and NGK Europe (Germany) are created.
1994
First environmental policy issued in Japan; in Baudour in 2001.
2009
The first CSR report of the NGK Group.
2012
The NGK Group is recognised as a company that encourages the involvement and career development of women (prize received in Japan).
2019
The NGK Group celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2019.
